Listen now (14 min) | Autistic POV Podcast ~ What is the difference between memoir and autobiography? What is the actual point of sharing our experience? What happens when that experience is difficult...
Oh, Barbara my dear Friend, I listened and reread this several times in order to try to provide you comments that might be useful. My first reaction is that you are so hard on yourself. I've never found that approach helpful. As with everything creative, whose approval are you seeking? Are you writing a memoir in order to make some money? There's nothing wrong with that but if that's the case, who are you writing for and how will you know if/when it was important to the reader?
You mentioned the dream guidance you receive. I hope the unconscious speaks words of wisdom.
Hi Frances. Thank you! Those are great questions. I don't think I'm looking for approval, necessarily. just trying to do a good job from a writing standpoint and to share something meaningful (these overlap but aren't really the same thing). I'm not expecting to make money on this at all. I'm writing for anyone who 's been late-diagnosed with autism or is curious about autistic processing. Yes, dreams help, definitely! I still miss having you in the group!!!
