Where I’m Coming From

I decided to rename my blog today after it was mentioned by another writer here on Substack. My old blog name (Barbara Graver by Barbara Graver) stood out sharply in the long list of lovely and creative blog names—and not in a good way. Even worse, I realized, a name like that didn’t explain my blog at all.

And, to be honest, I’m not sure my content has helped, at least not up to this point.

I have another (metaphysical) blog that I started in 2010 and still post in from time to time. Up until now, my Substack has been kind of mixed bag—but the more publications I read here, the more I feel called to do better.

Where I’m Going

I’m going to be sharing my writing, including excerpts from my vampire story in progress, talking about autism, and posting on my favorite special interest—the supernatural.

It’s still a bit of a mash up. But, I decided on Writing After Dark because I am writing, oftentimes at night, and paranormal fiction is dark and sometimes autism is too. I even decided I liked the name enough to get the dotcom. So I will probably not be changing it any time soon.

I know Writing After Dark doesn’t exactly come out and say, this is a blog about paranormal fiction, autism and the supernatural but I don’t think it contradicts any of that either.

And focusing on three topics is better than no focus at all. If any of this content interests you, I hope you’ll consider a (always free) subscription.
